Jennie judges at both Open and Championship shows around the United Kingdom and as such is authorised to award Challenge Certificates in the breed as approved by the Kennel Club, also authorised by the Swedish Kennel Club to judge championship shows in Sweden.
Arondyke Great Danes and their progeny have had, and hold, the illustrious titles of Champion, Top Sire and Dane Of The Year as well as many wins at Best of Breed, Group and Best in Show level....
In the Very Beginning .....I fell in love with the Breed ,it was in my early teens,but as I was living at home with my parents I didn't have the chance of owning one myself.I decided to buy my mum one [along with my brother] for her birthday,and I must say she wasn't amused,but as an animal lover really fell in love with him, a brindle dog that lived till 9 yrs of age. When I moved from home in my late teens my only concern was to get one of my own which was a Harlequin from Joan Kelly [Leesthorphill] I showed her with some success and over the next few years I bought a Fawn and a Brindle Bitch from Mrs Humphries [Kazim] ,two lovely bitches which became my foundation stock ....
After my first Harlequin dog I bought a fairly non -descript blue bitch and a beautiful harlequin bitch of leestthorphil and eacheatlands breeding .This bitch was mated to Eacheatlands Seraglio and produced a fine litter of which I kept two bitches.....In turn they were mated to Sven Petersons [ Chapalia] a very well known international Champion Chapala Sherman and Karina Le Mares [Helmlake ] equally well known Champion Helmlake Chico . These two matings produced sound well marked animals with correct confirmation....
Later I purchased Chapala Son of a Gun at Arondyke and Chapala Sawasdee at Arondyke who were awarded reseve challenge certificates between them,never out of the cards but neither made it to Champion status .Sawasdee produced Arondyke Close Encounters a wonderful puppy who accumulated many best puppy awards and colour format best puppy wins, but then unfortunately broke his jaw in an accident after slipping on ice.
A few years later Gary Hooker and John Lockey (Garsak) bought their first two puppies from me.
These harlequins made quite a mark on the show scene. Arondyke Counterpart (Alf) and his sister Astra both winning many top harlequin and other awards and Alf being always in the line up, but not quite making it to the top spot.

Alf, in turn, sired Arondyke Continuity (Quincy) who brought success in the ring for her owner Anne Morris.
